Daisy Award Winner – Ashley Ferrando

Tallavera is proud to announce that a member of our team here in Rochester has was nominated and has received the prestigious Daisy Award, Ashley Ferrando. The Daisy Award is an incredible honor to receive, being reserved for nurses who show incredible dedication, going above and beyond in their day-to-day duties.

“I recently had my mom in the ED with stroke and seizure.  The ED of >4 years ago does not exist anymore. There is minimal humanity with little care for the patient. There were nurses that cared for my mom and did what she needed but I was fortunate to have Ashley as one of my mom’s nurses. Ashley has not become detached or distant. She is caring, attentive, went above to meet her needs both medically and emotionally. She checked frequently and was proactive in her care and recommendations. She never made me feel like I was a burden asking for things for my mom. She was a shining star in a very terrible situation to be in. Ashely stands out and should be complimented for being a NURSE!!! She exemplifies this in her care and interactions. Thank you Ashley. Mom passed in hospice, and I remember you for all you did.”

-Nominated by a Family Member, Cindy

The Daisy Award is given to nurses like Ashley for their exceptional performance, going above and beyond the traditional responsibilities of a nurse.

Congratulations, Ashley!

Every nomination for the Daisy Award is an incredible honor, and being chosen as a winner, even more so. Since it’s founding in 1999, the award has represented exceptional care from nurses, who go above and beyond.

Awardees receive a certificate, a Daisy pin, and often a hand-carved African Stone Sculpture from Zimbabwe called the “Healer’s Touch.”

Congratulations Ashley, we’re so proud of your care and dedication, and even more proud to have you aboard as a member of the Tallavera team. Thank you for being exceptional.
